Welcome December! And, happy last month of the year to you, darling reader!
Through the month of December I’ll bring you installments that will nourish, ground, and replenish you during this busy season.
I’ve created a new spin on the advent calendar–a holiday guide to self-care where I’ll offer ways for you to take care of yourselves, each other, and give gratitude in a season that can often become stressful and depleting. It’s a cleanse to let in the spirit of the season and allow you the chance to slow down and nourish your being.

Use these days to pamper yourself. Before moving into the month of giving, give yourself a chance to be thankful for you and take time to slow down and bring yourself into balance; after all, this is the season that other mammals begin hibernation.
- On December 1, do a small cleanse with lemon water, a detoxifying soup, or a refreshing salad (give my Arugula Cashew Pomegranate Salad with Lemon Dressing below a whirl)
- On December 2, unplug from work, the computer, television, your phone for the evening to bring your attention inward & toward your intuition
- On December 3, set a timer for moments of mindfulness throughout the day–just to stop and experience your breath, your body, and the beauty of what it means to be you
I’d love to hear how these practices resonate with you–so looking forward to sharing more the rest of this month.
In gratitude and the spirit of the season,
Courtney Amber
