We’ve passed the one week point into December. I hope the coolness of this month has been invigorating and refreshing for your senses and mind. As we welcome Day 8 of this Holiday Self-Care Guide, I’m extending an invitation for you to create something and give it away.
Create something with your hands. Out of clay or watercolor or paper. Make verbal art—write a song, a short story, a poem. Design a yoga routine for a specific person. Our creativity is the most beautiful gift and it feeds the soul to create art and give it away. In your giving, you also heal yourself.
A dear friend of mine took a Philosophy of Happiness class, and one of the things that stood out to her was creating a piece of art for a friend and giving it away—we did this–wild, crazy and wonderful painted collage art.
“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time. This expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost.” -MARTHA GRAHAM
Give your creativity to someone else. You are a creative. Allow your energy to shine. Brave, beautiful soul, I’m so excited to see what you come up with.
In love and creativity,
Courtney Amber
